More doodles from my Sketchbook

Hey all, it's late Saturday night when I write this blog in...came back from watching Thor on the big screen...I do have to say that I enjoyed it a lot. A very entertaining movie....that even my younger sister dug.
Also wanted to share a page outta my SF#2 sketchbook...as you can see from the doodles below that I went straight pencil and pens. Added colors to one of the designs by using Photoshop. Let me know what you all think of this page?
Well, time for me to go now...I'll be cranking on the mask for the up coming show at the Petra gallery...info on the last blog entry here.
I'll catch you all later.

Cheers,
Axel

Batman in the Wind...

Hey All, here's a Batman sketch I did quickly last night in my sketchbook. I scanned the page and colored it using Photoshop. Let me know what you all think?

Earlier today I got a chance to go to Monsterpalozza and walk around the floor and check out some real cool stuff...all of it monster and horror related. :P
I'll throw up some pics when I get a chance. I did run into a few folks I know that are doing working in the practical effect and monster makeup biz.

Well, I'll catch you all later.

Cheers,
Axel

The Dark Knight...

Hey all, how's everyone doing with their summer? Hopefully having fun and getting inspired?

Well, I wanted to share my latest piece of Batman here. It was done in straight inks using pigment linear pens on Canson bristol board. I'm thinking that I should use some a brush on the next Batman piece...also it should speed up the drawing processes...this piece took sometime to do. Hopefully you guys and gals like it. I'll see about adding some colors to it.

Till next time, I'll catch you all later.

Batman

Here's a quick sketch of Batman I did last night. Used F Tombo pencil for the line work on Strathmore tracing paper, highlighted with White Prismacolor pencil. Scanned this piece with a cardboard background. Colored the piece using Photoshop.
He seems a bit old, but I really had fun with the line work. I wanted to just go with a funky looking Batman. Hopefully, it worked. What do you think?
I will be teaching class tonight over at Gnomon. I have invited Naomi Baker http://naomiful.blogspot.com/ to come by my class to talk to the kids. All I have to say is she's an awesome concept artist and she's only going to get better as the years go on. Feel free to check out her blog....let me know what you all think?
Catch you all later and have a safe and fun Halloween weekend!

More Sketches...

Hey all, just wanted to upload my latest sketches that I have done for my class, for the Galaxy Quest project and also sketches of Batman.
I do have to say that I am really happy with what the students in my class are producing so far. I have a talented group of kids. Just need to make sure to crack the whip on them to make sure they don't go off course. I'm really looking forward with what they'll be bringing in next week!
