The Wildlings are coming out to play!!!

A fun drawing toy to get....

...I came across this article and video on the new Inkling by Wacom. Seems like a fun little tool to have to record sketches from your sketchbook to a piece of paper. I'll need to try it out first, though.

Inside the Orange

Hey all! Wanted to let you that the fine folks at Inside the Orange are producing shirts with my art on them. When you get a chance check out what's being produced.

Sketches from Draw Bitch 3

It was awesome...my buddy Snakebit that runs the gallery set me up with a drawing table and chair. So for the whole evening I sat down and doodle away the night away. had a few drinks and talked with a few folks about my drawing process. I even did a interview for a new video podcast that will be coming out in iTunes soon. I'll let you all know about that when it comes out. Thinking about it hopefully it doesn't come out ok. :P
Oh yes...I uploaded two drawings that I did at the event...these pieces were done on 3'x17' bristol paper. These were strips that I cut out from bigger pads that were used as comic pages. Let me know what you think? Well, I'll catch you all later.

Myself and my mentor...

...pictured here circa 1997 at Art Center College of Design. Norman Schureman was such an awesome teacher/mentor that I learned so much from. Because of him...he pushed and encouraged me to be the artist/designer that I am today. I greatly miss him.

I thank my sister who pulled this picture out from her collection of pics sometime ago. I now have it on my drawing board.

Hey all, how are you all doing? Hopefully well...and trucking along. How about the U.S. being downgraded to AA from a AAA rating? I think it's sad...we're a bunch of losers in this country. Being born and raised here in the U S of A...I will lump myself with the good and the BAD coming from this country....now the stock market has took a dive...by 600+ points...oh joy.

Sketch Theatre Book Signing at La Luz de Jesus

Hello Everyone-

There will be a big promo signing for "Art of ST Volume 1" being hosted by La Luz
De Jesus in Hollywood next Thursday August 11th!

So if you happen to be in the LA...Los Feliz area...make your way to the gallery and hang out. If you pick up a book...I'll make sure to do a cool sketch for you!

There will also be drink and munchies provided! Come on who doesn't like drink and munchies? :P
So on Thursday night get off the couch and head over to La Luz de Jesus...you dig?

Where and....there?

Here's a piece I scanned from my SF#2 sketchbook. Let me know what you all think?
This piece was done using a straight Pilot pen size .25...really small tip.

Hopefully, I'll get all the pages to this sketchbook scanned so I can put it together as a small art book that I can put out there for all of you to get a chance to buy a copy.

Dang, It's already Wednesday...just last week Wednesday I was already in San Diego...man that whole Comic Con experience is such a blur. Need to recover...getting back to work mode...has been slow.

Both Axels finally meet!

Hey all! I got back from 6 days in San Diego for Comic Con...man...I'm beat. Now trying to get back to work mode....which is gonna be a bit hard. :P

Well, I finally got a chance to meet up with Axel Alonso, Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics. We tried and failed at Wonder Con...but made it happen in San Diego. Super cool dude....we chatted for a bit and talked about how we ended being named Axel...he gave me his story and I gave him mine. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to meet up with him again when I go back to New York City. I uploaded an image of us two at the Marvel booth.

For Comic Con 2011..overall it was a cool convention...good lord there was a crap load of folks walking that convention floor....but what else is new in that front? :P

A monster cover
