Autumn Sketches

Hey all wanted to share some doodles that I have done this past autumn.
It's been pretty busy in my end...just finished up the first season of Golan...which will debut next month at FOX.
Now working on the second season of Axe Cop...it's already a blast to be jumping back into this show!
Also finally finished working on all 130 pages of GEEK! now it needs to get lettered and colored. It's already half way there in colors. Looking forward in seeing this bad boy in print!
Will start work on a new secret animated project. Actually working on three animated show pitches...so it's exciting to be working on fun stuff this past year...2014 so have more in store! :)
Wishing you all a great weekend and hope you're enjoying the holiday season!

Catch you all later soon!

Doodling here and...where?

Hey all wanted to share with you a page out of my SF#2 sketchbook for all of you to check out! Let me know what you think? Maybe it could be better. I'm trying to get better...but got lots to work on.
Lately, I'm getting some cool opportunities to work on some interesting projects. But in the same time...I've been getting shot down hard from some folks out there. Some say I need to keep working. My look is too raw and loose. Oh well....what can I do...I can't pleased everyone. :P
Lesson here...keep doing YOUR THING!!! Fuck'em if they don't understand!

I wanna wish you all a great weekend. Please keep doodling and kick some ass!

Take it easy,
axel

Death Race 2100 Color Demo

Hey all, how's it going? It's been a bit raining here in Southern Cali...But doing some doodles here and there in the past few days. Also got a chance to go to visit Rough Draft Studios the gang that brings you Futurama! It was a sweet place to hang out and chill for a bit.

Well, wanted to show you the color demo I did this past Wednesday night for my class. I scanned in the inks at 600 dpi grey scale and did the colors using straight Photoshop. I had fun working on this piece. Need to do some more demos on layout and the new class project that's coming up as well. So stay tuned.

Everyone have a great weekend and draw draw DRAW!!!

Cheers,
Axel

Bots

Here's some Robot designs that I did from my sketchbook for a personal project I'm working on. Dang, I have so much going on at the moment with freelance projects, I'm trying to get it all straight. I don't want to seem that I am complaining, I'm not. It's good to be busy, I just need to manage my time a bit better. I feel tired and sad, just need to clear my my head. I know I'll pull through.
For this pieces I laid the roughs in with blue pencils then inked them with a brush pen that I bought from Japan (such nice pens). I added tones to the sketches by using my warm gray TRIA markers. I even used a white Primacolor pencil for the highlights.
I'll catch you all later.
