Back from Comic Con...now time to work!!!

Hey all I'm back from Comic Con! Damn, it was crowded in Preview night...hell it was crowed every single day, including Sunday! It was really cool to be at the Image booth this year. I must thank Joe Keatinge over at Image for setting me up with a table, it was really cool of him to do that! My buddy Eric was suppose to share that table with me...but he just did the signings for the Tori Amos' COMIC BOOK TATTOO and after that went off to do his commissions. Eric is such a busy and talented friend, folks just love his work.
I ended up displaying my blue spider and sketchbooks on the table. I was selling copies of Pecks, Backspace and of course Krash Bastards from Image. I had Howard Shum sitting to my right...really cool dude we known each other for sometime now. Really dig on his art. On my left was Ryan Ottley the talent artist on Invincible. Well, a little later I'll post up some images and write some more about the Con.

The image above is a sketch I did up really quickly last night...just playing around. Let me know what you all think of it?

Back from Japan and now to San Diego Comic Con!

Tokyo was awesome! BooBooKittyFuck and I got around taking the subways and walking. There was so much to see...my mind couldn't take it all in. I bought a little sketchbook and some pen and pencils. I started to sketch some doodles...here's two pages from that sketchbook. Let me know what you all think?
Now I'm getting ready for Comic Con over in San Diego. I'll be at the Image booth if anyone wants to stop by and say "hi". I'll be promoting Krash Bastards there plus Backspace! Well, time for me to go now.

Heading to Japan!

Hey, I also wanted to add that I will be flying out to Japan in a couple of days! I'm really excited in going to Tokyo and explore that awesome city...I'll be traveling with my wonderful girlfriend Ella a.k.a. BooBooKittyFuck. Luckly, she's been there before and knows a some Japanese phrases that can be very helpful. My ass...needs to learn more that just "hello" and Thank You" in Japanese. We'll be be staying with an old friend of mine that went to school with me over at Art Center http://www.artcenter.edu/ I can't thank Betty and her husband enough for opening their home to Ella and I.
We will be there for there for about a week and half. When I get back I'll post up some pics. But I know I'll be getting ready for Comic Con so that may take sometime for me to to do that. I'll catch you all later!

Character Designs

Hey all....here's a piece I did last year for a animated show pitch. The guys over Booty Gravey Productions were happy with how the designs came out for this project. Plus they were cool to work with...which is a nice thing. Hopefully this project will get a chance to get developed. Let me know what you all think?

Tailgunner Jo

Here's two sketches for Tailgunner Jo....a comic book character from the 80's. A client of mine wanted to pitch a game based of this character.......it fell flat.

Axel Pressbutton

Here's some sketches I did for a game idea of a comic book character from the 80's......Axel Pressbutton. He's florist.....which boggles my mind. Also I did his sexy side kick...Mysta Mystralis. It looks like this game isn't going anywhere.......oh well (sigh).

Killer Klowns from Outer Space Project

Here's more sketches I did in class. The top one being a bit more detailed than the first round of sketches....the rest in the bottom are sketches trying to match the styles of some of the students there. I'm really happy in with what I have seen so far....the kids are doing great! I'll catch you all later!

Keenan

Here's a drawing I did of Keenan Wayans so I can use as a guide when I add the make up application for his role in the latest Wayans Bros productions. Looking at this drawing a bit....it kind of looks like Samuel Jackson.......Well, catch you all later.

The class project I'm having them do is redesigning characters from a classic 80's flick done by the Chiodo Bros.......Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
I had the kids watch the movie and after that talk to them a bit in what I would like for them to do......the sketches above are examples of Killer Klowns. Let me know what you all think?
