I'm going to New York Comic Con!

Hello wonderful beautiful people! Wanted to let you know that I'll be heading out to New York City next week for the NY Comic Con...I'll be in Artist Alley at booth #A-7....hanging with the Essential Sequential crew. Here's a link to the NYCC site, also here's a link to the Essential Sequential site, Just to let you all know, I'll be doing $20 to $30 sketches at the show...one is able to go through Essential for a full on commission....please feel free ask Jason. Gonna be at Comic Con San Diego?

Hey All! Wanted to let you all know I'll be heading down to San Diego for the Comic Con this coming Wednesday. I hope many of you can make it? I'll be at booth #5557 under Essential Sequential...I'll be sharing space there with 5 other great artists...please stop by to say, "Hi" I'll also will be at the Artist Alley covering for my bud, Eric at DD-10. I'll be selling copies of my latest sketchbook, Japon....plus prints! I'll also will be taking on commissions as well. It will be great to get a chance to walk around the floor...even though it's going to be packed to the gills with Con goers...stop by other artist booths and hopefully pick up some great sketchbooks and art books from those creative talent. I will be there for the whole thing from Preview night till 5pm on Sunday. I've been taking my vitamins and hitting the gym to prepare. :P Well, I'll catch you all later. Cheers, Axel

I'm hungry...MAN!!!

Hey all! Here's a doodle of Venom I did sitting at the table over at this past WonderCon...I kind of like it...there's some things I would totally change...but it's cool to just get a drawing out and see where it goes and see what need spot be changes once it's done. Let me know what you all think?

The next few weeks is gonna be busy in term of I'll be working almost two full time jobs. That's what I get in wanting to jump onto projects that I really want to do. The crazy thing there's more out gigs out there that I can jump on...but I have to be realistic and stick to the jobs I really can put the time into...it would would be totally uncool in my part to do a job and not be able to deliver the goods in a timely matter. That's something I have expressed in the past to my class...DO NOT over extend yourself. It's ok to say "no" to a project...it's better to be honest upfront before anything gets started than having trouble in the process of that project. I have worked things out in the past that have allowed me to work on multiple projects at the same time. I know some of you including myself think we can be a super duper hero when it comes to producing work...but come on? One has to a reality check here. :P

On a side note...it's already the second week of the Spring term over at Gnomon...it feels weird that I'm not teaching my character design class. But I know that Brett is doing a great job with the classes...he's a totally talented artists that can handles his own. Brett took my class some years ago...at that time he was so determine to really kick ass with his art...and boy did he delivered! I'm so proud of him and in what he's doing in his career....he's done some work for varies video game companies out there. Here's a link to his blog ,let me know what you all think?

Edward Scissorhands Con Sketch

Hey all, just got back from San Francisco to do WonderCon this past weekend.

Overall it was a very good turn out...it was pretty crazy and packed on Saturday I do have to say. I walked around a bit...but really didn't see anything that I liked....so I saved money there. :P

Here's a sketch of Eddie Scissorhands done as a commission. I laid it in blue pencils first then inked it with a pigment and brush pens. For the whole 3 days...this was the only thing I sold...so it was very slow for me...the good thing my buddies at the booth did very well for themselves which was great.

Hopefully, I'll make some time to upload some more images of WonderCon for all of you to check out. This week is gonna be busy work wise...but that's cool with me. :P So I'll check you all later.

WonderCon 2011...will you be there?

Hello all, just wanted to let some of you know..the ones heading to San Francisco this weekend for Wonder Con. I'll be there hanging out at two places....the Minefield Wonderland booth #SP-59 and at the EssentialSequential booth #1338-1340.

My buddies Tony, Josh, Alison and myself will be at the Minefield booth while....Eric, Jason, Jon and myself plus other talented dudes as well at the EssentialSequential booth.
Looking forward in seeing some of you there...whom happen to be going. It should be fun.
I'll simply will be promoting some of my work plus other artists' work as well. I think about doing some simple $20 sketches....between both booths. I would be open in doing commissions...just contact Jason at EssentialSequential for further info or simply stop by the booth. Take care...catch you all later.

War Pigs

Here's a sketch I did at the Rock N Comic Con. It's fro my War Pigs project. It's piece done using a HB pencil, red Col-erase for tone and white Prismacolor pencil for the highlights onto a tone paper. Let me know what you think?
Still need to get the new quote for my Japon sketchbook. The first quote ended up being too much for what I want to do. I really want to make this book affordable for all to get. This three day weekend was pretty cool...got to go out and chill with friends and family. Got some sketches done as well...which is always good.

I'm open in doing Commissions

Hey all, the piece that I uploaded above is the inks to my Nueva York sketchbook cover. I would like to have this book printed later this year.

Also I just wanted to let you all that I'm open for doing commissions, since I have a bit of time to do some before going full force with my contract work. I'm getting folks asking me about doing stuff...so I figure it's about time for me to do some doodles for you out there.
Just email me at leyendecker13@gmail.com with what you like. At the moment I am doing a pair of sneakers for someone...so if you want a pair of sneakers done...I start at $350 and higher. A regular funky sketch starts at $50...(8.5x11 size paper) anything bigger like or with more details will be charged more. You will need to make payments through Paypal. I'll get these pieces out to you as quickly as possible. I will also need to charge for shipping as well. If things get a little crazy work wise...I'll let you know. I will be at Comic Con this year...so if you would like a piece then please free free to let me know.
